Alice L Slechta passed away February 25, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 69 years.
Alice was born in Yankton SD where she grew up on a farm near Crofton, NE. Growing up Alice enjoyed sports, particularly volleyball and softball. In her later years Alice married Richard Slechta and they moved to Omaha where they had two children Kristi and Jeremy. Her Children were her pride and joy and she was so proud of them. Although Alice and Dick later divorced, they remained the best of friends!
Alice enjoyed attending her Grandchildren's sporting events and called it her entertainment for the week. Fishing became her favorite past time and she looked forward to her annual girls camping trip. She enjoyed yard work and loved her garden. In the Summer time you could always expect a basket of her delicious garden vegetables and if she really liked you a homemade batch of her cowboy caviar. She had the pleasure of retiring 3 years ago, which allowed her to spend more time with her great Granddaughter Finleigh. This brought Alice so much Joy!
Alice was a giver and had a heart of gold. She always made time to chat with her neighbors and lend a helping hand. At the end of her life, she gave the ultimate gift of life to others, as an organ donor. She will be forever remembered as hero to those who loved and those who didn't know her but whose lives she saved. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her big smile, caring nature and loving spirit. May perpetual light forever shine upon you.
