On July 22nd 1967 in the little town of Hamburg, Iowa, Andrea (Andy) Kay Stephens was brought into this world by her parents, (Charles) Spike Stephens and Peggy Detrick - Rudoulph. She grew up with the help of her grandparents Sam and Mae Stephens and Pat and Mary Detrick by supporting and caring for her. Throughout her childhood, Andy attended rodeos with her grandparents becoming accustomed to the ranch and farm life. Moving from place to place as a young child she attended many schools. Years down the road, Sister Tammy was brought into Andy's life, by her mother, Sarah Jane. She loved her little sister, protecting her from all harm.
Her Mother, Ruth Humpal, took Andy in as her own and later joined a new little sister Lacey. The three were making their lives ever so sweet. Andy graduated from Eureka Springs High School in 1985. She not only earned her diploma there, but lifelong friends. She returned to Omaha to attend The Omaha Art Institute in 1986. She later moved back to Eureka and met her devoted husband, Theron Colvin. They shared the same friends from high school in Eureka Springs. Time past and as their love grew stronger for each other, deciding it was time to tie the knot. On April 8th 1990, they were married.
Shortly after Theron and Andy's wedding, they gave birth to their son Jeramie in May of 1990. They lived in Konawa, Oklahoma during Jeramie's first few years of life and soon moved to Tulsa. In 1996 she welcomed her daughter Jamie in October. Andy's children were the focus of her life and were her world. She was an amazing mother and would have done anything for the two of them.
In 1997, Andy and her family moved to Omaha Nebraska to be closer to her baby sister Lacey. Andy AKA Sissy was a devoted sister and aunt. In Omaha, she also started a job at OTC where she worked for the next 23 years. She was head of customer service. Her sweet personality and kind soul lead her into this position. Andy enjoyed taking annual road trips around the country with her family. She also loved attending Pow wows and made a close group of friends on the trail. Andy put family first above all things and embraced life with her caring heart, creativity, thoughtfulness, sweet laugh as well as her silly moments.
In October of 2020, Andy suffered a brain aneurysm. She continued her battle with various challenges accompanying the initial aneurysm. On July 23rd 2021, Andy was called home and passed away at the Josie Harper Hospice House where she was staying.
