Anthony D Butler

July 27, 1957 — April 3, 2022

Anthony D. Butler, Sr, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 27, 1957, the son of Isaac and Willie Butler.

Anthony grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Central High School. Anthony joined the military for a short time after high school. He left the military with an honorable discharge. He then moved to Denver, Colorado, in the late 70's, where he met the love of his life and wife Shirl Pankey.

They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he did his apprenticeship for the Boilermakers Local 101 and became a journeyman. He traveled the country servicing high steel electrical power plants. His children, Anthony Jr. and Donnice were born in Fort Collins, Colorado.

In the 80's Anthony moved his family to Omaha, Nebraska. He was employed with Metropolitan Utility District, where he worked in Mechanical Service and Field Services, IBEW #1521, for 30 years until his retirement in 2018.

Anthony had a passion for flipping and renovating houses. He was a master at electrical and plumbing work. He loved dropshipping merchandise on-line and making his secret Bar-B-Que sauce, Mo Better. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and smooth jazz to a fault. He had a jazz rendition of every song possible. You would think you are about to listen to your jam and boom; it was jazz. Above all Anthony loved his family and friends. He was passionate about family and looked forward to all the family gatherings...with a story of course!

Anthony was a mentor to many young and old. People were drawn to Anthony. Strangers would approach him and he would talk for hours sharing his thoughts or beliefs. He greatly influenced the lives of those he came in contact with during his life. He would teach young men and women any skill he possessed. You could always depend on Anthony whenever you needed anything but, the price would be a long story.

Anthony Sr. departed this life on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

Anthony was proceeded in death by his son, Anthony, Jr. his parents, Willie and Isaac and siblings, older brothers Isaac Jr. and Kenneth.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shirl Pankey-Butler, daughter, Donnice Butler of Omaha, Sasha and Saadi Alsheich of Bellevue, Step-Father, James Witcher of Omaha, Ronald Butler, of Omaha, Lawrence and Tanya Butler of Bellevue, Victoria Butler of Las Vegas, NV, Nathaniel and Sheila Butler of Omaha, Teresa and Feliciano Rebolledo, of Omaha, Terrance and Jill Butler of New Jersey, Tonya Jackson, Joanne Witcher, Patricia Rooks of Omaha, Tony Nockai, of Omaha, Jim, Lee, Frank, and Earl Edds of Omaha, Raymond McCarthy, of Omaha; Joey Pierce, of Omaha., Michelle Nockai of Omaha, Frienda Pierce of Omaha, Hazel and John Ellebb of Omaha, Kay Edds of Omaha, Mary McDonald of Omaha, Cathy Pierce of Rapid City, SD; Carry Pierce of Park Rapids, Minnesota; Ruth Ann and Lance Oglesby of Peyton, CO. nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
