Arthur Hazard, Jr. was born March 7, 1952 to Arthur Hazard, Sr. & Dora Lee McCorkle-Hazard in Ravenna, Ohio.
At an early age, Arthur affectionately became known as "Ball" & then in later years "Tony".
During his high school years, Tony attended Ravenna High in Ravenna, Ohio & East High School in Akron, Ohio. After leaving high school, Tony decided to enlist in the United States Army. During his time in the Military, Tony became a Medical Corpsman & received the National Defense Service Medal & was awarded a Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) commendation before he was Honorably discharged in 1971.
After his tenure in the Armed Services, Tony traveled to California, then on to Tacoma, Washington where he briefly resided with his Uncle.
Tony then relocated to Omaha, Nebraska where he planted roots. He enrolled in Metro Tech Community College & received his General Equivalency Diploma & then began his longtime profession of driving city, school & Greyhound charter buses as well as taxi-cabs.
Tony was employed at Laidlaw Transit as a School Bus Driver until he fell ill & ultimately entered into retirement.
Tony enjoyed playing dominoes, backgammon, Pinochle, Bid-Whist, Spades & barbequing for family functions. It was always a good laugh because Tony almost always would mis-pronounce someone or something's name & say it the way he thought it should sound.
Tony met his Forever-for-Life Partner, Janice & they were united in marriage on May 22, 1980. Although no children were born to this Union, six children were shared between the two of them.
Tony is preceded in death by his Parents, Allen Hazard (Brother), Lina Mae Pratt (Sister-in-Law), Priscilla Plunkett (Special Friend & Mother of his Children) & Montrell Wiseman (Grandson).
He leaves to hold dear & cherish his memory, his devoted & loving wife Janice Blackson-Hazard. Sister Diana Hazard (Kent, Ohio), Sister-in-Law Ernestine Blackson-Mitchell (Memphis, Tennessee), Daughters: Tracie (Wade) Ward, Kenya Morgan, Monica (Darwin) Blackson-Robinson & Leslie Blackson all of Omaha, Nebraska.
