Bennie Marshall Halsey

September 20, 1945 — May 12, 2017

Bennie M. Halsey was born 21, September 1945 in Omaha, NE. He was admitted to the hospital on December 14 and left us May 12. He is preceded in death by his parents DeWillie Halsey and Mrs. Willie Lee Baker, and brothers William C. Baker Jr. June, and David Baker. He is survived by sisters Gloria Andrews of Omaha and Bonnie Williams (Charles) of Las Vegas, NV; daughters Falla Halsey (Denise) and Bee Halsey, both of Lincoln; wonderful grandchildren Paxton and Zora, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

Bennie led a life of service. He was the coordinator of the Daywatch program and volunteered with Peoples City Mission, and he worked to feed up to 120 people through Foodnet. Bennie was an artist who painted and sculpted. His creativity was also shared with his friends, family, and many others through his delicious cooking.

He believed if you can help someone, do it, and make the best of each day.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, Omaha, NE.
