Bernice Johnson 80 yrs old of Omaha, NE passed away at her home on October 13th 2023 from Congestive Heart Failure, dementia and Alzheimer's.
Born on January 1st 1943 in Omaha, NE. She was the daughter of the late Van Humphey Gibson and Ollie B. Gibson.
Bernice attended Technical High School in Omaha, Ne. Her passions in life were ceramics, decorating, walking, fitness and most importantly attending the YMCA. She also loved to travel and Reminiscing to the music of her Era.
She was married and divorced to the late Walter E Johnson. Surviving are her children Renee Johnson of Omaha, NE, Glenda Moore of Charlotte, NC (husband Brad Moore) and Scott Johnson of Omaha, NE.
Bernice is survived by siblings sister Jean Loman of Fayetteville, NC, sister Mary Ann Briscoe of Denver, CO. and her beloved niece Gail McMichael of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by brother Dallas Gibson of Denver, CO and sister Margaret Gibson of Omaha, NE and brother Van Gibson Jr. and
Bernice is also survived by grandchildren Carmen Smith, Tracey Smith and Paige Moore and several great grandchildren. In addition a host of nieces and nephews she is survived by.
To know Bernice is to know she was very strong willed, strong minded and very independent who survived Breast Cancer twice.
Bernice leaves behind a legacy of good memories that will always be cherished by her family and friends.
