Betty Jo Hill

September 23, 1933 — November 4, 2022

Wow, what can you say about this amazing little lady we all called mom, granny, and grandma. Betty was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Omaha, Nebraska around 1951. Mom loved serving the Lord, especially when singing. She was a member of Cleaves Temple AME, Morning Star Baptist, Prince of Peace Baptist, and finally Salem Baptist Church. She sang in numerous choirs. Betty loved taking care of people in the nursing field, daycare, and she also did some factory work. She was known as a "kitchen beautician," which she passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and big sister.

She was preceded in death by her father Leon C. Hill Sr.; mother Waurine L. Hill-Carter; 6 brothers; Leon, Lean, Robert Lee, Billy F., Leon D. Jr., and Michael Hill; sister Wilma Jean Leek; grandson Leon Patrick Hill; great grandson Char-eion Hill.

She leaves to mourn aunt Dorris Carr; sister-in-law Sellie Hill; 3 daughters Joyce E. Hill-Poole, Caroline A. (Corey) Knight, Bonnie J. (Vann) Devance; 6 sons Barney D. (Michelle), Tyronnie (Sompong), Charles D. (Wanda), Lloyd DeWayne. (Marilyn), Danny R. (Paulette), Ronnie D. (Denise) Hill; nieces and nephews Becky, Fronzell, Havery, Winnie, Christine Hill; 32 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends too numerous to name.
