Carl Clough entered this world on May 9, 1942 as the 4th child of Fred and Georgia Clough. Early on, it became apparent that Carl would charter a path not defined by tradition, status-quo, or external opinion. When it came to following the rules, he simply chose to "color outside the lines". His work history and related interests varied from working for the City of Omaha, to construction work, to managing properties. His heart and soul would truly become defined not by his career, but by his love and passion for family, community, and an evolved spirituality.
Family: Carl had a fierce, protective love for those he loved and called family. His deepest desire was to love and be loved by his family. Carl understood quality time and made genuine effort to be present wherever he felt accepted. His love for family served as a comfort and example throughout the years and is what he most desired to be understood.
Community: Carl became involved within his community at an early stage in his life. Having grown up during very tumultuous periods in American history, he realized the importance of being informed and being involved at the grass-roots levels. His ability to influence, through word-of-mouth, underscored the power of community by relationship.
Spirituality: Carl was deeply spiritual and derived much of his later enlightenment from his study and experiences with Eckankar. He believed his spiritual journey was an eternal one and he purposed to connect with others on that journey. Carl transitioned from this physical world on September 8th, 2023.
Character: Carl will be remembered for being loving, protective, loyal, intelligent, bold, strong, informed, funny, spiritual, & unapologetically himself. Carl is survived by his 4 sons, Carlton, Calel (Clayton), Mateo (Matthew), Carlos, and his daughter, Nettie; a younger brother, 8 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his nephews, nieces, and extended family.
