Carolyn Hodges was a phenomenal woman, with a gentle spirit and caring heart. On Sunday, March 19, 2023, she was called by God to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Carolyn was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 12, 1944, to the union of John Hodges and Mable Harris. With strong "Dozens of Cousins" roots, she was raised in the heart of South Omaha by her parents, along with her two elder brothers. Carolyn attended Highland School and graduated from South High School in 1962. She was employed at Avaya from 1969 until her retirement in 2003. She co-owned and operated the Bali Hi Lounge located on the corner of 24th and Hamilton Streets.


Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents John & Mable Hodges; brothers, Ronald & Robert "BeBee" Hodges; and significant other, Kenneth Wagner. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Hodges; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 4712 South 82nd Street in Omaha on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing for family and friends is from 10:00-11:00am and Funeral service at 11:00a.m. Burial at Graceland Park Cemetery.
