Chata Monie Beck Dumas was born 1 August 1970 in Omaha, NE to Margaret Jean Hall and Tommy Dumas, and departed 23 January 2018. Chata received Christ at a early age. Chatas family moved to Oakland, CA when she was 4 years old and she received her K-12 education in the Oakland unified school district. After graduating from Fremont High School in 1988, she enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1992, Chata was Honorably discharged after serving tours of duty in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia as a Material Storage and Handling Specialist in which she received a Southwest Asia Medal, W/2 Bronze Service Stars, a Kuwait Liberation Medal and other Medals and Ribbons. Chata worked several jobs in California, then decided to move back to Omaha, where she eventually started working at the VA Hospital until she became disabled.
Chata is Survived by: her mother, Margaret Jean Simmons of Omaha, NE., father, Tommy Dumas of Oakland, CA; 3 sisters; Teresa of Norfolk, VA, Christina of Omaha, NE, and LaTrina of Oakland, CA: 2 brothers, Patrick of Omaha, NE and Nelson of Oakland, CA; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and a host of friends
