Cliftron LeRoy Brunt was born December 18, 1947 in Omaha, Neb. and died July 29, 2024 in Omaha, Neb. He is survived by his children, Kiayi Teasley of Saint Augustine, Fla. (Jason) and Cliftron LeRoy Brunt II of Oklahoma City; brother Terry Brunt of Amboy, Ill., five grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilton Brunt and Naomi Brunt; his former wife, Estella; his sister, Deborah and his brothers, Kim and Kelly.
Cliff loved the Lord above all else, and he shouted it from the rooftops. He was a brilliant, quirky man who was beloved by the few who were blessed with the chance to really know him. He loved music, both gospel and popular, and instilled an appreciation for it in his children. He enjoyed reading books, newspapers and magazines -- a quality that helped inspire his son to become a journalist.
In his younger days, Cliff was a fitness fanatic who was way ahead of the healthy food and supplement crazes. He joined Promise Keepers in the 1990s as he tried his best to live out his faith. He worked as a security guard at OOIC for many years. He demonstrated his resilient spirit by earning his GED at age 54, having previously dropped out of school after ninth grade.
Cliff was a calm, caring, Godly man who exuded love and made those around him feel special. He will be missed. We love you!
