Dale Ray Martin was born December 2, 1956, to Hazel Ruth Martin and Clifton White Sr. in Beaumont, Texas. He became Dale Ray Gatson when his mother Hazel wed Alexander Gatson Jr. in 1960. He departed this life on April 24, 2023.
Dale was raised in Omaha, Nebraska where he attended Howard Kennedy Elementary and Technical High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater New Hope Baptist Church.
Dale was very athletic and participated in many sports including basketball, baseball, track, and wrestling, just to name a few. He was the life of the party and made everyone feel welcomed. Dale was a protector, sacrificing himself for family.
Dale was employed at American Recycle until his health began to decline.
Dale was proceeded in death by his parents, Hazel Ruth Gatson, Alexander Gatson Jr., Clifton White Sr; brothers, Alexander Gatson III and Clifton White Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Destine (Javier) Mix of Omaha, NE and Danielle Clark of Beaumont, TX; siblings: Dora (Jerry) Sledge, Ralph (Patricia), and Pernell all of Omaha, Nebraska, Patrick of Tijuana, Mexico, Portia White, Cedric White, Geneva Garrett, and Rosalyn Rideaux, all of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren, Javier, Kingston, Gustavo, Bibiana, Julian and Yair; great-grandchildren, Melani and Javier, and special friend Delores Barriere. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
