Darrell Dwayne Averett

August 6, 1962 — July 17, 2022

Darrell Dwayne Averett was born August 6, 1962 to Barbara Averett Davison and Nathaniel Lee Averett. Darrell was preceded in death by his mother and father, his grandparents and son Barry and daughter Nia.

He lived in Omaha all his life. As a young child growing up, he united with Mount Sinai Baptist Church.

Darrell graduated from Benson High School in 1981. He enlisted in the Army after graduation, He was in that branch of the military for 4 years. He received an honorable discharge.

Throughout Darrell's life he held several jobs. The most recent job he worked was at University Hospital through his employment with Sodexo.

He also worked for a lengthy period at LaVista Public School and Immanuel Hospital. All who knew him knew he was the life of everywhere he went. He was loved by everyone who knew him.

On Sunday July 17, 2022, Darrell was called home from this world to be with the Lord. He will truly be missed by his family and friends who loved him.

He leaves to cherish is memory children, Demetria, Dannielle, Devin, MarQuita, DeUndre, Brianna, Davion and Omarion; Stepfather Luke Davison; brothers, Lenardo Averett and Sean Davison; Sisters Donita Matthews (Kenneth) and JeCara Averett, all of Omaha, Ne, 8 grandchildren, special cousin Sharon Nance and a host of family and friends.
