Darryl Craig "D1" Roddy was born April 28, 1968, to Borace Roddy-McLucas and the late Milton Roddy, Sr., in Omaha, Nebraska. Darryl graduated from Omaha North High School in 1986 where he was named the All Division All Metro All State. After graduation, Darryl went on to college where he was very successful. He graduated from University of Nebraska Omaha in 2013 with a Bachelor Degree in Gerontology. Darryl worked for Omaha Public Schools until he got sick. He was the assistant Coach for Benson High School Girls Basketball. All the children loved Darryl and he loved them. He also loved to play street ball during his "Larimore Days". He also played for the 40 and up club. When Darryl wasn't playing basketball he was working, He loved playing dominoes, and he loved to bowl. His favorite songs were Stay Awhile by Loose End and We Are One by Maze & Frankie Beverly.
Darryl is preceded in death by his father, the late Milton Roddy, Sr. His brother Milton "Pooh Man" Roddy, and his sister Irma Roddy. He is survived by his mother Borace Roddy-McLucas, his brother John (Kelly) Roddy,. His sisters Dorothy Roddy, Annette (Michael) Talley, and Tiffany Roddy. D1 is also survived by 7 aunts & 1 uncle; Barbara Ann, Maxine Lyons, Selma Green, Mable Childs, Arlee McLucas, Princella McLucas, Alice Dodson, and Willie McLucas. He is also survived by his children: Christopher Jones, Donte' Jones, and Don'Necia Jones and grandchildren; Cynnaca Layla Jones, Camden Barry, Kolby Barry, Donte' Jr., Mylena Renee Jones. Darryl also leaves his children mother Eugenia Jones and his significant other Cena Bradley and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
