Darryl was born September 24, 1961, to George Parker (mother) and Charles Griffin (father) in Omaha, NE.
Darryl was a graduate from Burke High School. Darryl was enlisted with the Unites States Marine Corps and his primary specialty was a Field Radio Operator. He earned a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (a campaign Ribbon Award), and a Marksman Rifle Qualification Badge. Darryl was discharged with a pending grievance complaint. He wrote letters as a veteran referencing his discharge with PTSD and other disorders associated with the military.
Darryl was kind and had a caring soul with songs, praise and a believer in Christ. If you knew Darryl you know that he was a walking singer of all genres of music, gospel, R&B, and even Rap tunes. His competitiveness would align with Chess, Pinochle (card game), and Scrabble.
Darryl enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing memories from the past. Darryl and Wanda were very close siblings and would be considered two peas in a pod. They are now joined together with other loved ones in Heaven and will be truly missed.
Darryl is preceded in death by his father Charles Griffin, sisters Wanda Early and Sylvia Griffin and brothers Gregg and Charles Griffin.
Darryl leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter Ashanti (CA), mother George Parker, siblings Tyrone/Betty Parker (NE), Florenda Parker (CA), Charlene Early (AZ), Vanetta Early (NE), Denise Early (NE), Katie Griffin Cowan (NE), Cedric Cox (IL), Keith Ivory (IL), Emerson and Charlotte (NE).
