Beloved husband, nephew and cousin, David E. Johnson, aged 46, passed away on the 14th of September, 2021, after a bout with Covid-19. David, who was on dialysis for 4 years, had been successfully managing his diabetes before contracting Covid-19 and worked as a Return Agent for Enterprise-Rent-A-Car and drove for Lyft part-time. He was known to be strong and dependable. His death has been a shock to the community.
David was born in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), to Sohnel Dengke and Rensbeth Eliam Johnson on the 5th of October, 1974. David attended PICS High School and graduated from the College of Micronesia (COM-National Campus) with an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems. When in FSM, David worked in the English Department of COM-National Campus as a Computer Information Specialist for 10 years.
Sadly, David is the final member of the nuclear family of Sohnel D. Johnson to pass. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his two younger sisters, Lorrie J Asher, and Sharon J Diopulus. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia Moses Johnson, his brother-in-law, Aiel Diopulus, and his five nieces and nephews: Johnstone Dayne Diopulus (18), Caleb Aiel Diopulus (17), Savana Rhee Diopulus (14), Erenessa Kiely Diopulus (12), and Te'anna Asher (10).
In life, David had been much like the ocean to the Johnson Family that is scattered across the globe. He connected each of us, like the ocean connects the islands. Always, there was news traveling through David of other family members, of happenings in the community and of what one can do to be involved. His silence in this time of grief is louder than words. He will be missed.
