David L. Koenig, age 61, passed away Thursday August 9, 2018 in Omaha, NE. Born July 11, 1957 in Council Bluffs, IA to Ben C. and Kathy L. Koenig.
David served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survived by wife Kathie, Son Michael (Diane Frazier) Koenig, Daughter Julie (Craig) Rogers, Step-daughter Rachel (Robert) Salnicky, Step-daughter Stephanie (fianc Devin Goering) Coe, Grandchildren Destiny, Emma, Natalya, Joseph, Damian, Bryan, Zachary, Great-granddaughter Makenna and Sister Susan (Jeremy) Johnson; sister-in-law, Vicky (Max) Peterson; brother-in-law, Bill (Jen Thompson) Droegenmeier and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Friday August 17, 2018 at Big Lake Park in Council Bluffs. Pastor Dan Grauer from Epworth United Methodist of Council Bluffs officiating. The Family invites everyone to join them immediately following to spend time sharing memories and a picnic/potluck with each other.
