Coles, David Michael "Butch"
September 15, 1947-December 20, 2020
David was born in Omaha, NE. He was co-founder of Bethesda
Interdenominational Church (a church without walls). He served in the United
States Army as a Clerk Typist, and received 5 awards: the Army Good Conduct
Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal
(Korea), Korea Defense Service Medal, and the Sharpshooter Qualification
Badge. He attended Creighton University and was a dedicated employee at
Encore for 40 years and retired on October 1, 2012. He made COVID protection
masks and donated them to those who needed them.
Preceded in death by parents, Marcel George and Josephine Coles, and
siblings Janet Taylor, Marcel Jr. and Tyrone Coles. He is survived by his
loving wife Betty Coles; his children, Michael, Jennifer, and Christopher
Coles; stepchildren, Jerome Marshall and Ebony Hollis; siblings, Richard
(Saundra) Matthews, Ronald (Pat) Coles, Jo Lynn Coles, Mardel Coles, and
Maureen Turner; eleven grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
