Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Rufino Avila and Margarita Acosta; and sisters Esperanza "Rose" Cervantes, Louise Nunez, and Rebecca Navarro.
He is survived by his siblings, Gloria Contreras, Jane Adams, Patricia Sanz, Rudy Avila, Rufino Avila, Robert Avila, and Raul Acosta; many nieces, nephews, and other family.
