Donald Henry Singleton, born Sep. 1st, 1953 and originally of Fairbury, NE, passed away on Aug 22nd, 2021 at Douglas County Health Center. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald Sr. and Lucille, and brother Jim, and is survived by his siblings Roy, Alan, Scott, Patricia, Sally, Susan, and Brenda, his children Ashton, Tonia, and Timothy, and grandchildren Connor, Liam, Shamus, Eamon, and Lucas.
Don graduated from Fairbury High School in 1971 and completed United States Army training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina in April of 1975. He was a very humble man who believed in the motto, "the only thing fair in life is how you treat others", and was considered a surrogate father by many local children and a strong-willed patriot. He was an avid fan of reading and history, and became well-known among friends for his unabashed enjoyment of animation and movies that he passed along to his son Ashton.
Don's service will be held at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home at 4712 S 82nd ST in Omaha on Friday, Sep. 3rd at 2:00 PM. As per his wishes, he will be sent off with military honors and cremated, with his remains being kept by his family.
