Donald Raymond Lamb Sr. 85 was born May 14, 1939, to Alfred and Dorothy (Illiff) Lamb in Cambridge NE., born in the Lamb home. He lived a full and blessed life passing to eternity on March 25, 2025.
Don graduated from High School from Tech High School in 1957. Immediately following graduation, Don joined the US Navy where he served 4 years as a Torpedoman’s Mate at Puget Sound in Washington State. After leaving the Navy, Don worked at Mick’s Grocery Store in Omaha. He later worked at Western Electric as a twister, twisting telephone cables for 31 years, and retired in 2001.
Don met LaVaine Sousek in 1971 and married. Don cherished all relationships with his family, friends, and neighbors. Don often said that his neighbors made it possible for Don and LaVaine to stay in their home for 51 years. He considered the neighbor girls, Arianna and Isabella, as two more of his grandchildren.
Literally, Don’s yard was his ninth child; he was a perfectionist in all his work. Don loved his dogs, gardening, canning, cooking and traveling. Don and LaVaine would take 2 different grandkids each year on their vacations.
Don is survived by his wife LaVaine of 53 years, Michelle and Mike Fulton, Donald Lamb Jr., Laurie and Alan Homan, Gary and Kim Lamb, Debbie Jean Burns, Barbara and Richard Stamatelos, 31 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 7 brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, daughter Debbie Kaye, son Michael, 4 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
