Edward Lee Perkins, who was also affectionally called Ed Lee by his parents, siblings, family members and friends. He was born on October 5, 1947, in Lormon, Mississippi, to his parents George L. and Mary B, Perkins. Ed Lee was the youngest of eight children. He began his education in Mississippi, but after to moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 1952, he attended Lothrop Elementary for his primary education. He then went on to attend Horace Mann and Technical High Schools. Post High School Ed Lee also attended Job Corp. Later, in life Ed Lee accepted Christ as his Personal Savior, as his mother was a devout Christian. Ed Lee was currently a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church here in Omaha, Nebraska.

In the late 1970's Ed Lee Moved to Portland, Oregon with his favorite cousins Rita Hampton, Anthony (Bugg), Conway, and Andrew Perry. He resided there for several years before coming back to Omaha. After coming back home he informed everyone that his name was now "Co-Signer" and this is what we called him until the end. He was involved in a very bad auto accident, but he didn't let that get him down. Co-Signer worked as a butcher with his older brother, Reverend George Perkins at various Packing Houses in Omaha. He was an avid fisher man and hunter, as this is what they did down home. Co-Signer would often fish with his brothers Foster and George. They would often take their great-nephews, Pooh and Gap along for the adventure. Co-signer referred to himself as the Blue Gill Master. He could gut and clean any kind of fish, coon, rabbit or squirrel. Co-Signer joined the Masons, and he was very proud of this endeavor.

Ed Lee was preceded in death by his parents, George, L. Sr. and Mary B. Perkins, and all his siblings; Union and Henry Foster, Steve Baltimore; Robert, Reverend George L. Jr., and Sarah Perkins, as well as his sister Rosa Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Dana Jenkins, Eddie Cokes, and John and Rondell Nared; as well as his grandchildren Dana and Makayla Jenkins, TJaden and Jordan Simmons, Amari Plater, Shane Perkins, Keyon Cokes, Tranquel, Tranealius and Jamal Wilson. Co-Signer had a very close relationship with Gwendolyn Anderson who he referred to as his sister. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memories.

Whatever name he was called Edward L., Ed Lee or Co-Signer he would always say "ONE LOVE" when he ended his conversation on the phone, in-person or text message. See you later Co-Signer! We ALL Love you!
