Erica M. Hairston-Figures

With love and joy, we celebrate the life of Erica Marie Hairston-Figures, who passed away on April 2, 2025. Erica was born on November 7, 1982, in Omaha, Nebraska, but her heart always belonged to the peaceful and charming city of Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she spent much of her youth. She dreamed of returning there one day to enjoy the simple, calm life that she so loved.

Erica was a force of positivity, full of life, love, and creativity. Growing up, she found joy in dancing, music, and cooking—talents that she continued to nurture throughout her life. Erica danced with the Salem Stepping Saints in her younger years, and her passion for movement and rhythm never left her. She was a proud alumna of the group, staying deeply involved with the children and sharing her wisdom and energy with the next generation.

For over 20 years, Erica devoted herself to the healthcare industry, where her compassion and care touched many lives. She was always the first to offer a listening ear or a helping hand.

Her love for family, faith, and helping others was a guiding light in her life. Erica dedicated much of her time to her community always finding ways to lift up those around her with kindness, care, and a generous spirit. Her heart was truly as big as her smile, and she had a magical ability to make everyone feel like family.

Above all, Erica was an incredibly proud and loving mother to her three beautiful daughters—Denice, Ugenia, and Juliana. Her love for them knew no bounds, and being their mom was by far the greatest joy of her life. Erica was also the best auntie, sharing endless laughter, wisdom, and love with all her nieces and nephews.

Erica was not only a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend, but a true beacon of light to everyone she encountered. Her warmth, humor, and vibrant personality will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Whether she was cooking up a storm in the kitchen, dancing to her favorite tunes, or simply sharing a quiet moment with loved ones, Erica’s presence was a gift to all.

Though she may no longer be with us in person, Erica’s legacy of love, joy, and community will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. She touched so many lives, and her spirit will live on in the memories, the dances, and the love she gave to the world.

Erica leaves behind her beloved daughters Denice, Ugenia, and Juliana; her mother, Arnece; her siblings, Lakescha, Jataya, Jerome, Jay-Me, and Justin (bonus siblings, Michaela, Catrina, Lachya); and a host of family and friends who will forever remember her as the vibrant, loving, and fun woman she was.

Rest in peace, Erica. You will always be our sunshine, and we will dance in your memory forever.

Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 3809 N 90th Street, Omaha NE 68134. Visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM with Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Services will be livestreamed below.
