Ervin Ivy Jr. "Daddy Cat Eyes" was born to Ervin Ivy Sr. and Ruth Lee King Ivy on August 6, 1956 at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Marshall High School. Ervin started working at age 14 with his father and uncle. He attended Job Corps and graduated in welding.
In 1975 at age 20 Ervin met the love of his life Sheila Carter. In 1977 he moved to Omaha, Nebraska. He married Sheila Carter Ivy in Papillion, NE on August 29, 1977. IN 1978 the loving couple birthed a beautiful daughter Juanetta Ivy.
In 1983-1984 he received a CDL from Trainco. Then in 1984-1986 Ervin received an associated in applied science. In 1986 he began a career in the hospital setting and University Hospital for 6 years, Methodist for 10 years, and Commence Hospital 4 years.
Ervin loved the Lord and was very knowledgeable about the Bible. He loved to listen to music and sing along. He loved watching and playing basketball. Ervin enjoyed spending time with his wife and buying her whatever she wanted.
Ervin was proceeded in death by son Ervin Antonio Ivy III; mother Ruth Lee King Ivy; sister Billie June Ivy; and two brothers Jerry Ivy and Maurice Ivy.
He is survived by wife Sheila Carter-Ivy; father Ervin Ivy Sr. (stepmom Rose L. Ivy); four sisters Sherlie Jean Ivy, Annie Ivy-Treadwell, Renita Carson, and Edna Ivy; three brothers Stephen (Rosemary)King, Jimmy Ivy, and Terrance Ivy; brother-in-laws Alfred Carter, Kovia Carter, and Lary Holmes; sister-in-laws Sondra Carter and Teela Carter; one daughter Juanetta (Rashad) Ivy; step daughter Carrleatha (George) Brookins; two sons Anthony Triplett and Brandon Flakes; fifteen grandchildren Tyceonna Ivy, Maliah Jones, Shardaye Jones, Rashawndre Ivy Jones, Teleice Wynne, Trinity Brookins, George Brookins III, Serenity Brookins, Josiah Brookins, Xzavior Brookins, A'kerra Triplett, Amari Harris, Armanu Tripplett, A'Nayzhe Tripplett, and Carmyne Foster; two great grandchildren Za'mamia Jones-Mannings and Alayah Rose Jones; and grandson-in-law Zakaree Mannings; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, eight aunts and two uncles.
