Eva Jean Salyers

Eva was born October 7, 1925, in Meadow Grove, NE. Her mother Clara Chada married Edward Reznicheck. To this union were born Paul, Ruby & Jean. Edward passed away and Clara remarried Rosco Pervan. To this union were born Harold, Glenn and Eva. At age three, her mother, Clara Pervan died, and Eva was placed in an orphanage in Peoria, Illinois along with her two brothers. She was in the orphanage for six years. At the age of nine, her half-sister Jean and husband Ora Beeson took her in. She then lived with them near Meadow Grove, NE. She spent some of the time with her dad Rosco and stepmother. When Eva was a teenager, she began working and was hired to clean the home of Jessie and Nancy Salyers. There she met their son, Fred Salyers, and soon married in 1941 at age 16. To this union were born four daughters: Sharon Elaine, Shirly Arlene, Betsy Edith and Linda Sue. Eva accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1945. Fred and Eva lived their lives farming just north of Tilden, NE. She was married for forty-one years and then divorced in 1982. She lived on her own until she was 89 years old, then moved in with her daughter Linda (Bellevue, NE) along with her daughter Shirly.

Eva was so very proud of her daughters, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved them all so very much. She was a devout Christian who loved the lord. She enjoyed talking about the bible and Jesus.

Eva is preceded in death by her husband Fred Salyers; parents Rosco and Clara Pervan; siblings; and granddaughter Cindy Harvey.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Harvey, Shirly Salyers, Betsy (Neil) Knauss, and Linda Minarik (Ken †); grandchildren Kim McKee, Warren Harvey, Kifton Minarik, Jenny Fester, Becky Anderson, and Ben Knauss; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other family.
