Freddie was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 24, 1966 to his parents, Freddie Atkins, Sr. that preceded him in death and Carrie Higgins. He was their eldest child.

Freddie attended and graduated from Harper High School in Chicago. He began his work life with Chicago Furniture and stayed with them for a few years. He developed a great work ethic. He later began a long career with the Leo Burnett Company in the Records Management Department and stayed with them for over 20+ years. Freddie was a dedicated and hard worker. Over the years at Leo, numerous friendships and relationships were developed and grew.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Carrie; two children, LaToya and Tavaris (aka TJ). His devoted grandmother affectionately known as "Granny". One brother, Cordell and one sister, Tammie. He also leaves a second mother, his stepmom Evelyn; a special lady to him, Debra, one step brother Terrence Partee. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Daveon, Michael, DaShawn, Keimoni, Naveah, Zariah and Zouri and the newest to the family 1 month old Lil TJ. Also a special young lady he considered a daughter, Andria. He also leaves to cherish his memories four aunts, one uncle, several nieces, one nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
We love you and miss you Freddie, Rest In Peace!
