Fred is preceded in death by parents Kermit and Nadine Ferestad, and his 2 boy dogs: Dakota Snow and Shadow Walker.
Fred wore many hats in his career. He worked as a Mobile Glass Auto Installer in North Dakota before transferring to Nebraska to continue this career for more than 35 years. Fred also worked security for many bars in downtown Omaha, concerts, and for WWF/WWE. Because of his love for the sport, he would try to teach his girls the WWF/WWE moves when they were younger. Prior to retiring Fred worked at Nebraska Methodist Hospital, Omaha in their Environmental Services Department.
He loved to travel with Diana and his family. Fred enjoyed and attended all car shows, which drew him to fully restore a 1955 F-100 Ford Pickup, which he loved as much as his family. His love for football started early in his childhood, as an athlete and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. He would let everyone know how many games they had won each season. Fred was a water boy in his teenage years, at the Vikings training camp in Minnesota, which he loved. Fred’s favorite things were playing horseshoes and making HUGE Hamburger Steaks on a gallon size ice cream lid. He “LOVED” everything that Diana had cooked and baked for him including his medium roast coffee with a little bit of milk added. Fred would be the family’s food taste tester for their family annual baking days. He really ENJOYED the little homemade apple pies. After retirement Fred and Diana purchased a camper, which he would call their cabin on a lake, where they spent hours enjoying the outdoors together with many friends and family at Cottonwood Cove, Blair, NE.
Fred will be truly missed by Diana and his family.
