George Bort

George was born April 14, 1946, in Decin Tetschen, Czecoslovakia, to Vratislav and Ruth (nee Rasche). He immigrated to the US at the age of 7, and became a citizen at the age of 15.

George served his country in the US Army Infantry (Mechanized) from 1964 to 1971. He was a member of the American Legion for 20 years.

He worked at Peel's Salon Service as the Warehouse Manager for 35 years, and was an enthusiastic support of St. Jude's Children Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael.
George was called to his eternal reward January 15, 2021, following a long battle with a variety of health issues, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 2 days.
Visitation will be at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 4712 S 82nd Street, Omaha, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a brief prayer service at 6:45 PM.
A graveside service and interment with military honors will be at Graceland Park Cemetery, 4720 S 42nd Street, Omaha, Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 1:30 PM. The Rev. Norman A Schell will Preside.
