Glenell was one of fourteen children from Rev. George H. Wilson and Nancy Wilson. Once he completed high school, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served eight years and 8 months, with one of those years overseas in the Korean War. It was there he received ta Korean Service Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his service in the Military, he honed his passion for the Culinary Arts. He later attended the College of Culinary Arts in San Francisco California. In California, he became a devoted Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Lakers fan. For the rest of his life, he continued to be a devoted and passionate chef. He continued to prepare his meals until the age of 90. He enjoyed watching sports and participating in horse and dog tracks wagers.
Glenell is survived by one son, Glen Sutton and his wife Karen Sutton and his three grandchildren Reima, Kailyn and Lucas; and his brothers and sisters, and a host of relatives.
