Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gloria Jean Dale Ferguson, sunset this life on May 13th, 2023, at the age of 75.
Puchie, as Gloria was fondly referred to by family and friends, was born in Minden, Louisiana on January 27, 1948. Raised, from birth, by her uncle and aunt, Frank and Roberta (Mayfield) Gardner (whom she called mom & dad) and cousins, Louis & Christola (Harvey) Dozier, she grew up with grace, culture and was active in the community, including joining the family church, Mt. Zion CME, as a child.
Proud of her family history, Gloria, an artist at heart, was an avid reader, enjoyed writing and being creative. She delighted in making family and friends feel good, smile and laugh, especially as she passed down childhood memories and family stories.
She graduated from Webster High School, took part in pageants, loved horses, rodeos, watching old movie Westerns, All-star wrestling and her plants. She had a wonderful green thumb.
Gloria is survived by daughter's: Calandra Dalemetria (Ferguson) Cooper (Samuel) and Kristee Roberta (Ferguson) Nash (Jerry) and her son, Quedale Ferguson (Dorothy); grandchildren: Kiara and Caspian Ferguson; great-grandchildren: Kyanna Ferguson and Kytrell Franklin and her, sister-cousin, Chandra K. Dozier.
Gloria is predeceased by her mother, Flossie Dale Moore (daughter of Lena Mayfield) and sister-cousin, Zenda Roberta Dozier and other beloved family members.
Siblings: Almira (Alma Jean), Donald (Big Don), Stafford, Leon and Don (Little Don).
Gloria will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Gloria's final resting place will be in the family burial site in Doyline, Louisiana.
The family thanks everyone for their condolences.
