Guy Owen Bailey

February 16, 1957 — June 28, 2023

Guy was born in Omaha, Nebraska then moved to Carter Lake, Iowa where he graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1975. He went on to graduating from a diesel mechanic program in 1979, he was in the top of his class. Guy then went on to work at Prairie Ford. Then in 1985 he worked for Anderson Excavating and Wrecking Company, where he worked for 34 years and retired from his supervisor position in 2019.

He was a hard worker, taking pride in everything he did and paid attention to detail.

He could build a house from the ground up or a motorcycle from the frame up. Also restoring cars and rebuilt many engines. He could fix anything. He was excellent with math and numbers.

He loved cooking and grilling out for his family and friends. He enjoyed spending times with his friends and was fun loving playing a joke or two.

He loved drag racing, riding his Harley, fishing and traveling and blues music. Most of all he loved and supported his family unconditionally. He was a wonderful provider. Always there for them no matter what.

He was a quiet man, very private, always willing to lend a helping hand no matter how difficult. So much more to him than meets the eye.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Gene Bailey; mother Ardeth Joan Clouse; brother Ronald Gene Bailey. Survived by his wife Suzanne Lynn Bailey; son Guy Owen Bailey Jr. and daughter-in-law Jennifer Bailey; daughter Lanni Lee Bailey (Matt); grandchildren Jimmy, Carter, Owen, Colton; three sisters; and many many nieces and nephews.
