Gwendolyn Victoria Hogue

February 6, 1955 — February 2, 2022

Gwendolyn Victoria Hogue, of Omaha, Nebraska departed this life on February 1, 2022 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center after a lengthy battle with COPD. She was surrounded by loved ones as she transitioned from earth to glory.

She was born February 6, 1955 to Charles Lee & Jessie Marie Hogue in Cairo, IL. A few months after her arrival the family moved to East Chicago, IN.

Gwendolyn and her mother moved to Omaha in 1961 and there she attended Franklin Elementary and Omaha Technical High School. In high school she dominated in track and field in the 100-yard dash and the 400 meter hurdles, and the 100- meter relay, she was a force to reckoned with!
She professed her faith at an early age at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was a member of Paradise Baptist Church singing in the choir and serving in the hospitality and woman's ministries. She was faithful to her church and you could always rely on her dedication to helping others get where God wanted them to be.

If there was one thing Gwen (Vickie) was, that was determined! No matter what the challenge or request, she gave her all to ensure she exceeded all expectations whether for herself or others. She was beloved by everyone who ever met her; A wonderful mother, a loving daughter and a best friend to all walks of life. No matter the circumstance, you'd always leave with a story of something funny/crazy Gwen did while you were with her.
Gwendolyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her lovable cat CoCo. You could always find her cooking up a good meal, watching a great movie or documentary, listening to a genre of music, and keeping you informed on current events.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles L. Hogue, stepfather Robert Jimmy Harris, and grandparents, Jesse & Victoria Tolbert.
She leaves to cherish loving memories with her three sons Tarysh Hogue, of Omaha, Travis Hogue and his wife Monique of Omaha, and Terrill Hogue of Phoenix, AZ, mother, Jessie M. Harris of Stone Mountain, GA, sister, Cassandra Harris, of Stone Mountain, GA, nephew, Brandon Harris, of Norcross, GA; niece, Makaila Wills of Stone Mountain, GA; grandson, Tyrill Hogue, of Omaha, granddaughters, Blessin Hogue, of Arizona, and Taraji Hogue, of Indiana and a host of other relatives and close friends.
