Hampton was born on August 16, 1961, in Cairo, Illinois to Eugene and Josephine Tolbert. He and his family moved to Omaha NE when he was 3 years of age. He attended several O.P.S. elementary, middle schools, and Technical High School. After high school, Hampton worked several jobs as an O.P.S. bus driver, production worker, and subsequently began a career as a self-employed house painter. Hampton attended and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He accepted the Lord during his final hospital stay.
Hampton never married nor had any children. He was preceded in death by parents Eugene and Josephine Tolbert, sister Annie Mae Tolbert, nephew Doyle Bryant III, and great nephew Jamaurion Tolbert.
Hampton is survived by his siblings Eugene Tolbert Jr. (Lani Tolbert) San Diego, CA, Mary Jo Sullivan( Robert Sullivan) Augusta GA, James Tolbert (Alma Tolbert), Charles Tolbert (Deborah Tolbert) Sandra Tolbert, Howard Tolbert, and Lisa Tyler (Terry Tyler) all of Omaha, NE, and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.
