Henry John Knape

Henry J. Knape, December 5, 1939 March 20, 2019

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Henry was a life-long Nebraskan that enjoyed spending time with his large family, gardening, and following Nebraska football and basketball.

He was born to Ernest and Clara Knape in Lincoln, Nebraska, and married Sharon Oliver in 1962 in Omaha. They raised three children, Elizabeth (Jared), Jennifer (Michael), and Aaron (Anne). Henry was extremely proud of his family and was an active father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Edward (Patricia) and Robert (Florence), and his sisters Alice and Ruth (Warren).

He is survived by his wife, his children, his brother Warren, his sister Mary (Walter), his grandsons: Scott (Rachel), Paul, Preston, Sten, Merrick, and Grey, his granddaughter Rachael, and his great-granddaughter Sloane. He will be sorely missed.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 30th at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 4425 S. 24th St., Omaha, NE.
