The Atlanta Braves lost one of their biggest fans on June 17, 2023!
Growing up, Jeremy's room was filled with Atlanta Braves paraphernalia; including a Braves wallpaper border. He was finally able to attend a Braves game in Atlanta in 2012. Jeremy began playing t-ball at the age of 5 and continued playing baseball through his high school years on several select teams.
One of Jeremy's first jobs was working at Taco Bell where he first met Sabrina through her brother, Jason. Jeremy and Sabrina have been together over 23 years. They have two children; Ashley 21 and Ashton 14. They became grandparents last July and Jeremy loved being a dad and a grandpa.
Jeremy and Sabrina had a great group of friends who were together for baby showers, birthdays and Nebraska games. They played slow pitch softball and their team name was "Shockers". Jeremy really enjoyed being with friends. He loved to travel by car (taking the scenic route), going camping with his friends and family and going to the shooting range. Jeremy taught both of his children to play baseball and helped coach their teams. He enjoyed watching Ashley's gymnastic meets and loved fishing with Ashton.
Mighty Mouse was one of his nicknames. Jeremy was a caring, kind, sweet young man. He had a quiet strength.
Jeremy was working at Logan Industries as a supervisor. He talked about how much he enjoyed working there and had such pride in his accomplishments. If you needed help with anything, Jeremy was always willing to lend a hand. He was also the family and friend's mechanic and helped find good deals on used cars. He meticulously mowed and trimmed 3 lawns, which were always the best in the neighborhood. He liked raising all sorts of tropical plants. Jeremy and Sabrina worked together in making the most delicious meals with Jeremy slaving over the smoker to get the meat perfect.
Jeremy was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 6, 1979. He graduated from Central Christian in 1997. Jeremy was 43 years old. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Randy Harrer, Sr., grandparents, LaVern and Darlene Cornelius and Bud & Wanda Evans. Survived by his partner, Sabrina, of 23 years, two children, Ashley (Alex) and Ashton; his grandson, Santiago and another grandson on the way; his parents; Kenny Evans and Linda Harrer. Siblings: Jason Evans, Julie Evans and Randall J. Harrer, Jr. (Amber) and nieces and nephew, Jessica, Jasmine, Lauren, Stella, Levi, Sophia and Emma.
The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude for all of your prayers and support, especially during Jeremy's brief illness and this time of loss.
