John David Dickey

John David Dickey was born on April 28, 1949 in Jefferson City, Missouri to John and Jeanette (Brown) Dickey. John passed away on October 25, 2021 at his home in LaVista, Nebraska, at the age of 72 years 5 months and 27 days.
His family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, then to Little Rock, Arkansas and at the age of 14, John moved to Omaha, Nebraska. He attend and Graduated from Beverage/Burke High School, after High school he attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
John worked maintenance for the City of Omaha, retiring after 31 years. He went on to drive semi-trucks and a school bus. He also worked as an Umpire for an adult softball league.
In December of 1965, John earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 408 in Omaha. John's two sons both earned Eagle, as well as two grandsons and has 4 more grandkids still in Scouting.
John coached his children's softball/baseball/soccer teams and was an assistant scoutmaster. He enjoyed making himself laugh with his dad jokes, studying history, traveling, his dogs and following his grandchildren to the activities they were involved in. He was always there to help anyone in-need and offering advice if it was needed or not.
John is survived by his children Jill (Ryan) Domnick, Wesley (Bobbie) Dickey and Josh (Wendy) Dickey, sisters Margaret Wilson and Jean Olinger, grandchildren Skyler, Blake, Jonah, Jocelyn, Cameron, Jamey, Maggie and Abby, as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
He is proceeded in death by parents John and Jeanette Dickey, sister Pauline Dickey and grandson Joseph Dickey.
