John Devalle Mcpherson Sr.

John Devalle McPherson Sr. was one of six children born on June 26, 1959 to Holmer McPherson Sr. and Dorothy Hamby McPherson, in Oneonta, Alabama. John moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1969 with his family where he attended Kellom grade school, Horance Mann Jr High and graduated from North High School in 1978. Right after high school John went to work for Lozier Store Fixture until 2018, he did retire after 40 years of service. John also worked with OPS as a bus aid in 2021.

John was baptized November 11, 2001 at North Omaha Church of Christ assisted by Brother Donald McPherson.

John is preceded in death by his father Holmer McPherson Sr; mother Dorothy Hamby McPherson; sister Annette McPherson; and Valerie McPherson Horne.

He leaves to cherish his memory former spouse Lula Plater-Smith; sons Lornell D.(Melissa), John D. McPherson Jr. (CJ) of Omaha, NE, Rashad D. McPherson of N.Y.C.; step-children Lashawn M., Eltio M. Plater of Omaha, NE; brother Holmer McPherson Jr., Donald (Yvonne) McPherson of Omaha, NE; sister Cecila McPherson Reynolds of Pleasant Grove, AL; grandchildren Tyrus M., Talia M., Trinity M. McPherson of Bellevue, NE, Daevion-Conrad McPherson of Sioux City, NE, La'Nea P., Ayanah R. McPherson of Omaha, NE, DaRyius R. McPherson of Dau-Claire, WI, Asa M., Armoni T., Kialani McPherson of Omaha, NE; a host of other grandchildren that he has gained along his life journey, nieces, nephews family, and friends.
