During this time, she was an active member of the CWA Union, Local 7400 where she put her passion for people and equality to work.
Kate had two children, Jason and Cara, with her first husband and later found the love of her life, marrying George in 1989. With a blended family, Kate, spent most of her free time tending to the needs of everyone else. She was front and center at every sporting event, talent show and music program. This passion continued with her grandchildren. Later in life, Kate was an active member in FOE #3943 in Elkhorn. She loved to travel with George in their RV and vacation with friends to Mexico. Kate was an avid reader, loyal Husker fan and was known to enjoy an occasional glass of wine with popcorn of course.
