Kenneth Lamont Mitchell

May 26, 1969 — January 13, 2022

Kenny "K-Koo" Mitchell was born with a magnetic personality. He always filled the room with energy, excitement and a million-dollar smile. Anyone he met always felt like a friend. He was loyal, giving, the protector of his friends and family. He possessed quick wit, and a lively sense of humor that always kept you laughing. He would give you the shirt off his back. He always said, "Enough said!" His number one love was music. He had the spirit of a warrior and it showed in his excellent boxing skills. Starting at 8 years old at C.W. Boxing, Kenny's love of boxing never left him. He went to North High school and graduated from Springfield South. He obtained his CDL and fulfilled his dreams. If you met Kenny you never forgot him.

Kenny passed away on January 13, 2022 at the age of 52. He was born on May 26, 1969 to Barbara Mitchell and Myron Kenneth Jefferson. Barbara always said, "Kenny was her "lil" chocolate chip." He loved his sister, Tisa. As he grew up Kenny had his motto, "Family First." He loved every person in his family and looked forward to family gatherings and holidays. He took pride in his children and most recently became a loving grandpa.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father Myron Jefferson, maternal grandparents Mary and George Mitchell. He is survived by his loving mother Barbara Mitchell. His daughter Jessika Sorensen. His son Kenneth Mitchell Jr. His sister LaTisa Mitchell. 2 grandchildren, Jai'lyn and Dynisty. Paternal grandparents L.C. and Essie Jefferson. Special friend, Ellen Sexton.
