Lawrence "Jim" James Dawson

Lawrence "Jim" Dawson passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Gretna, Nebraska at the age of 80 years. He was born February 17, 1942 in Raton, New Mexico.

Jim retired as a firefighter for the United States Forest Service, mostly stationed in Arizona at the Blue Ridge Ranger District. Jim served with distinction during the Yellowstone fire of 1988, in which he saved multiple crew members from what destroyed nearly 30 percent of the park. Jim's love of the outdoors coincided with his love of hunting.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Virgil Dawson.

He is survived by his son Thomas (Marla) Dawson and his grandson Clayton Dawson.
