Lucy Pike

April 10, 1923 — February 14, 2025

Lucy J. Pike entered into our Lord's eternal rest on February 14, 2025 at the age of 101 years. She was born April 10, 1923 in Belleville, Kansas to Helen and Mathias Garcia. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jesse and Frank Garcia, son Paul G. French, granddaughter Charity Plank and grandson James E. Cauley II. Surviving family are son Leo Plank of Omaha and fiance Rose Guillemyn of Omaha, daughter Madonna Plank of Council Bluffs, daughter Loxie Cauley of Myrtle Beach and son in law James Cauley, daughter in law Kathy French of Johnston Iowa. Other relatives include 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 7 great/great grandchildren. Lucy also has several nieces and nephews in various states.

Lucy retired from NW Bell/US West in 1991. She was also employed at Ossoff's of Omaha, and Regal Awards where she used her skilled trade as master engraver for decades engraving fine jewelry, trophies, plaques and specialty pieces for customers across the country.

She was an avid NASCAR racing fan and knew many legends of NASCAR throughout the years. She loved Country music and met numerous country artists and musicians, knowing several as friends.

She was a loving mother to four children working arduously, often 2-3 jobs to support her family. Omaha was home to her since the early 1960's, after spending time in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. She was known for her culinary skills and loved hosting family and friend gatherings for special holidays such as birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lucy enjoyed socializing and was a friend to many. She was an active member of the Nebraska Republican Women's group. Lucy lived life to the fullest, leaving behind a personal legacy worthy of biography.

We would like to recognize son Leo Plank, who enduringly provided personal care and attention to our mother along the aging process, and over a long journey of health decline; daughter Madonna Plank who handled business affairs, appointments, and transportation needs. Granddaughter Christine Williams who thought of her as a mother, and spent much of her personal time visiting and providing personal care as needed.

The family would like to thank the staff of Endless Journey Hospice who cared for Lucy during her end-of-life transition.
