Lynette Marie Jimmerson (Nette) was born on October 5, 1963, in Omaha, NE. She was the second of three children born to the parents of Carrie E. Jimmerson and Thurmon Jimmerson Jr. She graduated from North High School in 1982. She attended Metro Technical Community College where she
completed several courses and obtained certifications in providing healthcare services. She was employed at GameCo for over 5 years, provided residential in-home healthcare assistance and performed residential lawn and commercial cleaning services.
Lynette and Tyrone Thorne welcomed their only child, Cyan La’Shea Thorne on June 15, 1995. She was grandmother to her daughter’s twins, Mya and Marcell Phillips born on October 25, 2012. Lynette developed a talent for cooking and preparing meals for friends and family. She enjoyed placing a
creative spin on her favorite desserts and entrees. Lynette accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, was baptized and became a member of Empty Tomb Ministries in South Omaha, NE under the leadership of Pastor Steve Sheridan.
As a result of failing health, Lynette was called home March 15, 2024, at 9:30am. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Samuel Johnson; grandmother, Frances L. Johnson; father, Thurmon Jimmerson Jr.; aunt, Betty Johnson; aunt, Ruthie Mance; grandfather, Thurmon Jimmerson Sr.; grandmother, Ernestine Jimmerson; step-grandmother, Betha Lee Jimmerson; companion, Tyrone Thorne and brother, Donald R. Johnson.
Left to cherish her memories are, daughter, Cyan Thorne and grandchildren, Mya Phillips and Marcell Phillips of Omaha, NE; mother, Carrie E. Jimmerson, of Round Rock, TX; sister, Shantill Jimmerson, of Omaha, NE; brother, Belvis Jimmerson (Cynthia), niece, Andrea Jimmerson; nephew, Byron Jimmerson of Georgetown, TX; brother, Broderick Jimmerson, of Omaha, NE; cousin; Alberta Walker-King, of Commerce Township, MI; aunt, Ella Brewer, of Marianna, AR; and extended family: Ruthie Gildon, of Omaha, NE; Robert Payton, of Bartlesville, OK and other countless relatives and friends.Saturday, March 23, 2024
