Margaret Ann Graves was born to Elmer Glenn and Shirley Ann Starks on August 20, 1958, in Omaha, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Shirley Starks; brother Sherman Graves; sister Nadine Graves; and granddaughter Shalonna Houston.
Margaret grew up in South Omaha and attended Indian Hill and Bryan Sr. High School. She later went on to obtain her GED. Margaret held several jobs over the years, but her main passion was making sure no one was without in her family and South Omaha Community. She was very kindhearted, lending a helping hand by giving to anyone who was in need. Margaret accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She loved God and was diligent about doing her bible studies. During one of her last days on Earth, she was seen lifting her hands with her eyes closed as if she were saying to God "I am on my way home."
One of the many talents she possessed and was known for in the family was braiding hair. If you ever had your hair braided by Margaret, it was an experience. Your hair was tight and right!
There was never a dull moment with Margaret. She was very outspoken and if you know Margaret, "she said what she said" and you better deal with it! The way she strung curse words together to tell you how she felt or how it was would either shock you, make you burst into laughter, or both. Despite her colorful language, to know Margaret is to love her.
Margaret loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would do anything for them. Her presence filled the room with her smile, laughter, and outgoing personality. She impacted everyone in her life and she will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her children Rakischa (Derrick) Henderson Houston, Ronnie (Jen Derby) Houston, and LaTanarae (Ricardo) Rosales; grandchildren Anton, Corey, Fred, Kevon, Ronnie, III, Thomas, LaRosie, Ronica, Alexa, Jaxe, Rosaria, Analicia, and Serenity; many great-grandchildren; brothers Eldridge (Terry) Graves, Morrie Graves, and Glen (Lin) Starks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
