Marilyn was born in Coon Rapids, Iowa on November 21, 1933. The family moved to Omaha where she graduated from Tech High School. She met Carl and a whirlwind of 6 months romance turned into 69 years of marriage. They were a team and had a successful Tile and Lino business, Carl's Tile and Lino. They lived in Bellevue 67 years.
They were able to travel the world and share adventurous stories. They did not have children but had two French Poodles, Pierre and Andre, that were their fur babies.
Marilyn was active in the DAV and American Legion 331. She volunteered at the Veteran Hospital for over 20 years and loved visiting with the patients.
With her sister Donna, they shopped yearly and wrapped and distributed coats, clothing, and school supplies to children through the Blumkin Foundation. She handed out samples at AE. Each month she claimed she was employee of the month; she was the ONLY employee.
At age 81 she was sworn in to be a certified Daisy and got to visit the birth place of the Girl Scouts of USA, Juliette Gordon Low.
Some of you might recognize her from the Casino;s in Council Bluffs. Her fast witted personality and sense of humor left everyone remembering the little spit fire she was.
Lovingly cared for by her sister Sandie; special niece Vicki, Lahoda boys; and dear friends, Chris, Geno, Joel, and Kathy Conrad.
