Marilyn LaMontia

September 28, 1943 — August 8, 2024

Marilyn Rosenbaugh LaMontia age 80, was born in Chicago on September 28, 1943. She lost her long-time battle with cancer August 8th at home surrounded by family. Preceded in death by mother Wanda Rosenbaugh and fathers Michael Skowron and Merlyn Rosenbaugh.

Marilyn was a dedicated and passionate educator who touched the lives of hundreds of students during her 33 years with Omaha Public Schools.

She survived by her loving husband of nearly 59 years, Alfred J LaMontia, children; Jennifer and Bobby Clark, John and Kristen LaMontia, grandchildren; Enzo and Akangkha, Joey ,Vinny, Cecelia, Ashtin and Kyle, Zach; great grandchildren: Carson and Graham; brothers: Gail and Lora Rosenbaugh, Carl Rosenbaugh and lifelong best friend, Elaine DeWell and husband Richard.

Special heartfelt thanks and love to all the staff from St. Croix who provided her exceptional care and comfort, especially Amber and Heather who are now part of our family.

Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held Sunday, August 18th from 1-4 pm at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 4712 S. 82nd St. A time for prayer and stories will be at 2:00 PM so please bring stories, memories, and photos to share. Flowers may be sent directly to Good Shepherd. A memorial in honor of Marilyn's passion for literacy has been established to provide free books to students in Omaha area.
