Mark Quinsley Wilmore, Sr. passed away April 5, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 65 years. He was born June 21, 1958 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Inez Wilmore; and son Mark Quinsley "Quin" Wilmore, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of over 17 years, Vanessa Wilmore (Jurden); daughter Monique (Joel) Ruiz and her mother, Deb Wilmore; grandchildren Isabella and Emilio; brother Henry "Al" Wilmore; and niece Emani (Omari) Wilmore - DaCosta; mother-in-law Johnnye Jurden; brother-in-law Gregory Jurden, and other family and friends.
Born in North Carolina, Mark shared that's where he learned about fishing and shared many memories of life with his grandfather. He moved to New York City when he was young. While in New York he found a love of basketball. He played in high school, prep school, and college. Mark attended prep school in Suffield Connecticut. He had earned a basketball scholarship while in College.
Mark's passions were his family, fishing, basketball, camping, grilling, traveling and food. His favorite color was purple; the color of royalty. He had a deep concern and caring for others, yet did not want to be a burden to those he loved. He loved rainy and snowy days. He was proud and determined. He loved working as an insurance agent because he enjoyed educating others about life insurance and the importance of protecting their families.
