Born Mary Hazel Guthrie in Omaha, NE at Clarkson Hospital to Vinnie A. Brumley and Otto C. Guthrie on October 6, 1958. Mary was one of 8 siblings. She graduated from Central High School in the spring of 1978. She married Jay Alan Myers on March 23, 1979. Mary and Jay had a son named William Alan Myers on January 29, 1983. Mary loved to chat and play games during her spare time as a homemaker. Her joy of playing games carried on into her later years as she continued to play games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Chiefs games on many occasions with her son and grandsons over the years as well. Mary was a great conversationalist as she could carry a conversation on late into the day. She was a kind soul always willing to help when she could, with a touch of joviality in her character as she also liked to joke around with others with cheerful, hearty good humor.

Mary is survived by her son, William Myers, daughter in-law Teresa Myers, and her grandchildren, Tavin, Tyler, Brendon, and Braxton Myers. She is also survived by two of her siblings, Wanda J. Guthrie - Smith, and her twin sister Christine Guthrie - Prue. Mary is survived by many extended family members that will miss her dearly and cherish her memories always.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Vinnie Brumley - Guthrie and Otto Guthrie, as well as many older siblings: Usher O. Guthrie, Ann Guthrie, Arthur L. Guthrie, Patsy J. Guthrie, Bertha L. M. Guthrie, and Lomy L. Guthrie.
