Mary E. Thompson passed away November 13, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 73 years. She was born September 27, 1951 in Beatrice, Nebraska.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Andreas.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul Thompson; children David (Dawn Seastedt) Thompson, Anne (Stefan Berkenkamp) Thompson, Rachel (John) Youngblood, and Daniel Thompson; grandchildren Jarrett, Jace, Chloe, Liam, and Brianna; brother David Andreas; sisters Sandy (Wayne) Sherwood, Claire (Don) Howie, Ruth (Scott) Wooten, and Kaci (Bob) Fieldman; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Mary was always a very hardworking, dedicated, Jesus following person. Her first job was milking cows on her family farm. To make money to buy her high school class ring, she butchered a couple hundred chickens.
When she graduated from high school, she moved to Omaha at the age of 18 to work in the insurance business. Finding the work quite tedious, she started working for the City of Omaha's law department as a secretary.
She met her future husband in the World-Wide Church of God in 1970. After they married and she gave birth to her first-born child Dave, she dedicated her life to her family of 6: working behind the scenes at PLT Trucking, sewing clothes, music lessons, sports teams, paper route, and church activities.
When her children were all in school, she founded her own business that was flexible to work around her children's schedules. She was always finding ways to eat healthy meals and obtaining food from natural sources. When entering the house, she would most often be found in the kitchen making the next meal, baking cookies or her famous bread and cinnamon rolls. She will be missed.
