Mayalyn Thompson

Mayalyn Grace Thompson was born on October 10, 2006 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was baptized on July 28th, 2013. Maya attended school in Omaha and graduated from Omaha Street School on December 22, 2023. After school Maya did go on and completed her CNA certificate. Maya had just gotten her own apartment, was working full time, and planned to attend college in the fall. Maya sadly gained her wings on June 29, 2024.

Maya enjoyed driving her own car, playing basketball, visiting Florida, kayaking, parasailing, going to the beach, eating seafood, baking & cooking, dressing up, doing hair and makeup, being with friends, painting and crafts, animals, making videos, and taking selfies.

Maya was a big personality and she had a zest for life. Maya would take the spotlight in any room that she walked into. Maya was strong willed and fiercely independent. Maya was very loving, empathetic, compassionate and was a strong advocator for those in need. Maya was bold, carefree and she liked excitement.

Maya is preceded in death by great-grandparents Richard & Margaret Boell, Essie Mae Finley, Vera & Leon Thompson, John Hopkins & Liza Jones; grandparents Richard McCammond, Duane Riesselman, Clote Sykes and Catherine Hankins; aunts Brianna Sykes and Jacquelin Wood 

She leaves to cherish her memories parents Delvin Thompson, Heather & Ed Hankins; siblings Mitchell Carr, Aniya Hankins, Jada Hankins, and Jalen Hankins; niece: Armani Carr; grandparents: Dave & Mary Bruck, Don & Shirley Thompson, Lou Sykes; many aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
