Melva was from Red Oak, IA, formerly from Omaha, Lincoln and Hallam. Melva graduated from Bertrand Community School and earned a BS in Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She applied her accounting, marketing, and consumer service skills in positions with Direct TV, First Investors Corp and Manpower. Melva had a passion for music, singing in the Trinity Praise Team and directing children's choirs and pageants. She served her church on leadership committees and enjoyed working on fundraiser, especially suppers. She was active in Business and Professional Women.
Melva is survived by her son and his family, Chad Johnson, Christine and Danny of Centerville, GA; siblings, Annette and Jerry Hall of Lincoln, NE; Louise Johnson of Savage, MN, Stan and Karen Johnson of Omaha, NE, Blair and Donnette Johnson of Wilcox, NE and Wendell and Betty Johnson of Big Lake, MN; and 16 nieces and nephews and their families.
Melva was preceded in death by her parents, E. Verdon and Evelyn Johnson, Bertrand , and niece, Addison Johnson, Wilcox.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 pm on January 6, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist in Ralston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Methodist Hospital Foundation in Omaha.
